Some of the most important writers in the canon of even world literature are listed in our readings for this week.  Nobel Prize winners in literature, writers like John Steinbeck and William Faulkner have produced literature of the very highest rank.  Each, however, has produced works with deep, universal themes while shaping their literary worlds from very different regional settings and contexts.
