 Read the introduction in your text to Jonathan Edwards.  For interest, contrast the confidence of "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" with Edwards' "Personal Narrative," the history of his spiritual life.  For a sense of the Calvinism that Edwards championed, read the introduction to "The Literature of Colonial America" in the Study Guide for Week 2 and the notes on William Bradford in the same Guide.
