Text 1: Business correspondence

to stay competitive the Motor Division must reduce costs without compromising quality

one possible area for this reduction is the production of the differential side gear

currently the ceramic insert used to finish the gear has a low endurance level if an insert

with a better durability can be used we can reduce costs on drive train production for

this reason I have tested a new insert developed by General Electric (GE) which was

laminated with cubic boron nitride (borazon) to determine the insert's durability I took

measurements made observations and recorded data I used this procedure to determine

the average and maximum tool adjustment frequency my procedures results conclusions

and recommendations are detailed in the report from the results of my testing I found

that it is presently uneconomical to use the borazon inserts however the attached report

recommends that we continue testing the borazon inserts using a coolant to keep the

variation in temperature to a minimum and that we determine the cause of the better

backface edge durability continued testing may yet prove the durability of the GE insert

Responding to Your E-mails
I always respond to your messages.  However, I always open "Question," "Comment," and "Urgent"  messages first and respond to them usually on the day I receive them.

I will respond to your assignment messages within a day or two to let you know that I have received your work and files and whether or not I can open them.  To grade them, I open assignment messages in the order in which I received them.

Length of Time Required to Grade Your Work
It usually takes me from one to two weeks to grade essay-length papers and to return them.  Shorter papers I can grade much quicker.  I will return them as e-mail attachments to my response messages.
