Unit 6: Illustration - Definition

One of the most important developmental patterns is addressed in this unit on illustration - definition.  In an expository (explanatory) composition, an illustration can be an example of what you are talking about.  Illustrations may also include supporting data, facts, reports, statistics, anecdotes, or any other information that will help provide specific evidence to authenticate your claims, observations, or positions.

Read "Part 3: Illustration," pages 238 - 246.

Assignment
Complete the Exercise 5: Illustration Essay.

What You Will Submit
You will submit the Illustration essay.

Due Dates for Submission
Submit "Exercise 5: Illustration" during Week 7.

  1. Students will demonstrate an ability to select and restrict a topic
