Project Staff and Personnel: Who We Are

S. James Corvey, Project Director
S. James Corvey, Executive Dean for Educational Resources and Distance Learning at Mountain View College, is the Project Manager.  Co-author of the grant application, Jim supervisors project staff and serves as a liaison with other Dallas County Community College District colleges, the project Steering Committee, and District offices.

René Prupes, Program Administrator
Originally a member of the project steering committee that drafted the first FIPSE grant application and subsequent planning grant, René now directs the 2006 - 2008 "Family Involvement for Latino Success in College" research project.  A former director of Continuing Education programs for Brookhaven College, René brings years of administrative experience and critical insight into successful learning systems in higher education.

Monica Pauken, College Project Coordinator: Mountain View College
Monica Pauken is a 2005 graduate from Texas Tech University with a degree in Spanish. As a Dallas native, she is excited to be at Mountain View College working for Latino success in higher education. Monica provides professional support services for the Project Director and staff at Mountain View College.

Monica Hernandez, College Project Coordinator: Brookhaven College
As a bilingual professional, Monica takes pride in working with students and their families to provide support needed for success in college. Her ethnic heritage gives her insight into the challenges faced by many minority students. She is committed and passionate about achieving our long term goal of access, persistence, and retention.
